Profile
Ken Mohon has extensive experience in Project Manager, Construction Engineer, Mechanical Superintendent, and Mechanical Supervisor of over 25 years. Ken has played a major role in estimating, planning and scheduling, coordinating, and executing various new construction projects, major shutdowns, and maintenance projects. Over 35 years of experience in domestic process piping systems related to oil and gas production, refining, chemical, petrochemical, and plastics. Knowledge of layout and checking of process piping, instrumentation, electrical, civil, mechanical, and structural drawings, interpretation and application of codes, procedures, standards and specifications. Experience includes maintenance and construction “hands-on”, instructional, and supervisory responsibilities with an understanding of OSHA State and Federal Safety Standards. Also possess necessary computer skills to perform management duties.
Work History
Construction Inspector/Consultant - Responsible for the oversight of contractors executing the installation of new well sites, retrofits to existing well pad facilities, and installation of salt water disposal facilities.
Project manager – Responsibilities include; safe execution and on time delivery of various construction projects, including Alaska’s North Slope oilfield and Pennsylvania Gas pipe line compressor stations.
Mechanical Supervisor - Responsible for the oversight of various construction crews including Pipe and structural Fitters / Welders, Coaters and Insulators. Main duties include safely executing new construction and facility upgrade projects field wide, for various oilfield clients.
Construction Supervisor - Responsible for the oversight of contractors executing the installation of new well sites, and retrofits to existing well pad facilities. Responsible for contractor estimate review and approval, writing PO’s and approving invoices for multiple contractors, major equipment, and materials needed to execute project. Ensure contractors are following Hess standards, and HSE compliance rules and regulations. Responsible for kick-off meetings, cost tracking, scheduling, and final close-out of project.
Construction Engineer - Assigned to Completion of North Star Island NOC module installation, and Arktos Escape Vehicle Ramp Project.
Project Lead / Construction Engineer - Assigned to Various Construction Projects. Performed front-end loading for major and minor construction projects at Milne Pt. Liaison between BP and contractors, and followed projects through from inception to completion including turnover and close-out.
Construction Engineer / Well Tie-in Coordinator - Communicate with drilling and Reservoir Engineers on cost, scheduling, and feasibility, on work over of existing and drilling of new wells. Coordinate all surface activities including well tie-ins. Liaison between BP and contractors for well tie-ins and construction projects, in process facilities and on drill sites at Milne Pt. Responsible for managing and maintaining safety performance, cost, and scheduling, of construction projects and well tie-ins.
BP MILNE POINT, ALASKA
Mechanical Superintendent - Responsible for the supervision of approximately 85 employees (Pipe Fitters and Welders, Structural Fitters and Welders, Scaffold Builders/Carpenters, and Insulators). Responsible for safely executing various new construction and facility upgrade projects, including well pad installations / well tie-ins.
Construction Manager – Oversight on installation of new NGL injection facility for enhanced oil recovery. Responsibilities included maintaining safety performance, project execution, cost, and scheduling of the project.
Mechanical Superintendent – Overseeing of 600 plant piping tie-ins, to 3 new Chemical Units.
Mechanical Superintendent – Overseeing mechanical department during hydrocarbon unit expansion.
Project Manager over facility expansion, which included the installation of new bean processing and roasting facility, new gas piping systems, new grinders, and new packing line equipment.
Mechanical Superintendent for plant expansion, overseeing two General Foreman, each with six, ten men crews.
Mechanical Superintendent overseeing three General Foreman, each with five, twelve men crews. This project was construction of a plastics plant.
Assigned to Ethoxylates Park Project as Mechanical Superintendent.
Assigned to Milne Point, Alaska as Mechanical General Foreman assigned to the L-Well Pad
